On March 16th I went to a hacienda, south of Quito (Ecuador) to watch an active volcano.

The Tungurahua (in qichwa : Tungur = Throat; Rauray = Burn) is in the Eastern Cordillera of the Andes at 140 km from Quito, near the thermal city of Baños. It is 5.023 mt. high.

The eruption went on from 7PM to 8PM.

This picture was taken with my Nikon D700 and an Elmarit R 90mm.
