Thanks for your comments

The second photo is also my favourite but I was also pleased with the third as it was a grab shot and the railing has lined up perfectly.

As for Para Handy perhaps this is him -

There are several of these vessels which have been called "Vital Spark" over the years. This one was renamed that in 2006.

Will the real Vital Spark step forward

Last time I was at the end of the Crinan Canal, which must have been in about 2008 or 2009, I think that VIC27 was till there. I'll have to get my negs out and have a look.

Thanks for the link. An interesting read. Both of the ships at Inverary are in need of some TLC. I photographed the Eilean Eiesdeal at Inverary some years ago and it now appears to have been renamed the Vital Spark. I thought I'd photogrpaphed The Vital Spark used in the BBC series at Crinan many years ago but having read about the name changes who knows? Anyway I thought renaming ships brought bad luck.

My thought too!

He used to be on the deck of the Arctic Penguin and I have a photo (not Leica) of my late mother sitting next to him.
