Michael Hiles Posted May 28, 2012 Share #1 Posted May 28, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) These houseboats are on a canal in Amsterdam. Apparently, they never move (where better to sail than Amsterdam?), and many if not most are too big to fit under the bridges that cross these quietly beautiful canals. And they don't come cheap - this is the high rent district.
Advertisement Posted May 28, 2012 Posted May 28, 2012 Hi Michael Hiles, Take a look here No Lawn. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
pauledell Posted May 28, 2012 Share #2 Posted May 28, 2012 Michael, This is a fine picture with the composition, tones and sharpness. Perhaps there is no lawn, but the tenants don't have to mow the grass but can spend the time fishing. Paul
Michael Hiles Posted May 28, 2012 Author Share #3 Posted May 28, 2012 Paul, Thanks for your comments. Funny - I never saw anyone fishing. Either these folks don like fishing (doubtful), or the fish may be questionable. The water seems OK but these canals are not pristine mountain springs. ravinj Posted May 28, 2012 Share #4 Posted May 28, 2012 Michael - Nice composition. I took similar shots in Amsterdam a few years back but never tried B&W conversion. Perhaps I should give it a try.
