pauledell Posted May 28, 2012 Share #3 Posted May 28, 2012 All are beautiful pictures, but as Michael said, there is something special about the first picture that transcends the view. Rising above adversity in rebuilding. Paul
Dolphin Posted May 28, 2012 Share #4 Posted May 28, 2012 #1 is a fantastic shot ! The sailboat is a plus. I don`t really like this special light situation - but I am jealous of you (because of your favorite spot...). I have been in NYC last year for 1 week ... it was so amazing ... Iduna Posted May 30, 2012 Share #6 Posted May 30, 2012 E, an excellent series. All pictures have this cinematic touch, specially the first one with the sailing boat. Second one is well captured with lights and darks, no 3 is a goergeous light and colors and no 4 is un unusual refreshing punchy sight. More more more. . . leicamann Posted June 1, 2012 Share #9 Posted June 1, 2012 Great shots, how does the lens pairing with the camera work for you , any distortion , vignetting, chromatic aberration, moire issues? I was trying to convince my wife to get this camera, but no, so it looks like I will be doing the guinea pig stuff with my money. Thanks for sharing Cheers, JRM

ravinj Posted June 2, 2012 Author Share #11 Posted June 2, 2012 Thanks John and George. John, A long answer your question: With the 50 Summilux ASPH and Zeiss 50 Planar on the Nex-7 I have not seen any issues. Image quality is very good. Focusing is easy and accurate (thanks to focus peaking and magnified live view). I find the 50 Summilux much easier to use on the Nex-7 than the M9. With the 35mm Summicron ASPH, magenta cast can occur in corners at large apertures in certain light conditions (fixable with Cornerfix). I saw same issues with Zeiss 25mm distagon. Central image quality is very high at all apertures. Generally speaking, Nex-7 does not work well with M glass wider than 35mm. Nex C3 and Nex5N do not appear to have magenta cast issues with wide M lenses. TriElmar WATE presents no issues and image quality when mounted on this camera can be stunning. Overall, very satisfied and it is a good complement to the M9. If you don't care too much about the EVF, take a look at NexC3 - used ones without the kit lenses can be had for quite a low price and IMHO are a good value if you have M glass.
