pauledell Posted May 27, 2012 Share #3 Posted May 27, 2012 Marc, A wonderful picture. This sets one's imagination to work in overdrive. It could be the cover picture for a book. Great seeing to get this one. Paul

AbbeyFoto Posted May 27, 2012 Share #11 Posted May 27, 2012 Lovely sky - I so like cloudscapes - personally I'd trim the sea but a fine image for me all the same.
marc_dufour Posted May 27, 2012 Author Share #12 Posted May 27, 2012 Chris, Such a composition, half and half, isn't usual for me... Quite the opposite! But in this so particular case, sky and sea were so imposing the one as the other. I couldn't, nor wanted, let anyone prevail on the other in the image. Neither of both could be the same without the other, as in a perfect balance. It's what I thought in this moment, and still today. Thanks for you kind comment and appreciation. Omaroo Posted May 27, 2012 Share #13 Posted May 27, 2012 Surreal, alluring and almost mystic. A beautiful image Marc. As said - book cover material.
marc_dufour Posted May 27, 2012 Author Share #14 Posted May 27, 2012 (edited) Thanks a lot, Chris. I took this one (and many more) from an helicoper, after a whalewatching tour. The creatures were impressive, but these clouds and the sea... well, this was another dimension. Here is another one, something similar, maybe you also like: http://www.l-camera-forum.com/leica-forum/other/217645-beyond-horizon.html Edited May 27, 2012 by marc_dufour

Alexander Charles Posted May 28, 2012 Share #19 Posted May 28, 2012 Amazing photo Marc. It comes about as close as I can I imagine to a Mark Rothko painting. Here is a link to a Rotko painting that probably resembles more of your other seascapes. Thanks! marc_dufour Posted May 28, 2012 Author Share #20 Posted May 28, 2012 Alex, Yes the photo of the link resembles to some of mines. Many photographers and painters we are attracted with the horizon of the sea. As many people, I suppose. From times ago. Thank you so much for your kind comment and for the link.
