Monochrome + 50mm Summicron APO.

Slight curves adjustment and thats it. This camera and lens was loaned to me by a friend who is reviewing it. What magic this body and lens can do!!

Very nice.

If this is South Fl... I'll bet your friend owns a Photo Shop and Lab in Ft. Lauderdale.

I'm very interested in this camera... I'm not 100% about losing the ability to adjust color channels... or having to go back to external color filters... yet the way it renders a scene... reminds me of the smoothness of my old MF Yashica.

I have been thinking about PP and trying to stay true to the image in my head and the image as the camera produces it...

Have you pushed other images around a bit? Was this the raw or jpg?

I played around with other images as well but there is not much to do. They're great right out of the camera. This was straight out of the camera RAW file.

I may end up selling my M9 and a CV lens to get me to the point that I can afford the MM.

I am just blown by the look and quality of the files... and of course what it photographers can do with it.

Another from that day with the yellow filter on the 50mm APO. Same processing as the first one.

I think you applied some sharpening. I found the MM file will create diffuse brighter patches next to contrast transitions if one does. See next to the trunk of the palm tree.

That may have been due to me forgetting to bring down the default sharpening in Aperture.

Thanks for posting. Lovely image!

Some of the highlights seem a bit hot on my computer screen (e.g., the wall in the back left). Are they clipped or recoverable?

They are recoverable. Although they look fine on my screen.

Well, I used to use a light yellow filter on an M3 and M4 and am fairly well versed in its effect on film and I know Leica has mentioned the use of a yellow filter will result in something approaching panchromatic film, but this image is way overprocessed to tell just how well this filter can work. There are halos everywhere and the look is just not right. I would suggest you re-visit your PP.

Thanks for your comment. Like I said previously in this thread, my default sharpening for some reason in Aperture was set to 75. Because of that, halos are visible in this one. That is my fault.
