Riverside Church at 120th Street and Riverside Drive in Manhattan's Upper West Side was built in memory of John D. Rockefeller's mother between 1929 and 1933 at the cost of $6,000,000. It featured what is still the tallest tower in a church, and was consecrated as a non-denominational Christian institution.
