pauledell Posted March 25, 2012 Share #2 Posted March 25, 2012 (edited) An excellent series with the great composition, the rich colors, the atmosphere and the sharpness. I particularly like the first, third and fourth shots. Paul Edited March 25, 2012 by pauledell
NZDavid Posted March 25, 2012 Share #3 Posted March 25, 2012 It's a wonderful place with a rich history of shipwrecks and adventure. There used to be a limestone archway called London Bridge but it collapsed. Limestone stacks remain. Weather and light are forever changing; the coast looks amazing in a storm or sunshine.

jaques Posted March 26, 2012 Author Share #5 Posted March 26, 2012 (edited) thanks folks! It's a wonderful place with a rich history of shipwrecks and adventure. There used to be a limestone archway called London Bridge but it collapsed. Limestone stacks remain. Weather and light are forever changing; the coast looks amazing in a storm or sunshine. we did stop there too- I didn't realise the arch had collapsed and was a bit underwhelmed by the description of this formation as "London Bridge"- now it makes more sense. Apparently two tourists were stranded on the new Island when it suddenly collapsed and had to be rescued by Helicopter! Probably their footsteps set off the collapse just after they reached safety- very lucky escape: Edited March 26, 2012 by jaques

MarkP Posted March 27, 2012 Share #7 Posted March 27, 2012 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) Apparently two tourists were stranded on the new Island when it suddenly collapsed and had to be rescued by Helicopter! What you weren't told was that the couple were married:), but apparently not to each other:eek: Considering the size of this I think it would have taken much more than a few footsteps to precipitate a collapse:D Very nice set of photos. Do you have any more to share? This is a beautiful area which I also recently travelled through with my son and my Leica. Last time I came through here (1987) London Bridge had not yet collapsed. You have inspired to post more of mine in the near future: http://www.l-camera-forum.com/leica-forum/landscape-travel/219426-victorian-coastline-1-australia.html Edited March 27, 2012 by MarkP
