Default Fire on the Moors

This afternoon - D2

A shot across Bottoms Reservoir showing the smoke from a moorland fire hanging over the village of Tintwistle in the Dark Peak.

John, this is a terrific shot. Great scenery in an almost romantic look, because the smoke could also be some fog.

Was there a problem with the fire?

Thanks for the feedback guys.

The fire was, I think, over towards Stalybridge, which is some miles away. It's just that the wind tends to carry the smoke some distance at ground level when there's a fire at this time of year. It seems to be out now as there's no smoke today.

A great capture of a timeless looking scene, seems as if it could have been taken in the 1930's.
