It was an impressive location for me. I felt that in US these military cemetaries are places to honor fallen soldiers, remember of their heroic deeds, beeing proud of that they have done their duty to the country. For Germans (as I am) such places are a memorial against war. To experience this contrast as a matter of cultural difference was one of the strongest impressions I've made on my first US trip.
