I think one of the most difficult shots to get is the time after a sunset... the light is falling quickly, the colors are changing... and you need to have the image be dark but not a full on night image.

We had a great sunset last night and I put the camera on a tripod... this image is a 16 sec exposure with the 28 2.8 elmerit M9.

Many thanks for looking and for any comments.

You have nicely captured the atmosphere, no doubt, but it is the atmosphere itself that I at least do not find particularly overwhelming. I have seen (and photographed) some absolutely stunning after sunset moods in the Mediterranean, where the light was constantly changing, producing spectacular hues on the water and in the sky. Maybe people were expecting something along those lines. Technically you have done very well though.

Very good picture. The bright spot at top right seems to be the planet Venus.

Thank you Paul and Guy,

Yes it is Venus and for me the sense of being in that space was indeed serene, and it was that total sense, the feel of the cooling evening, the sound of the sea, the fragrence of the flowers on the evening air which made it for me. Now to capture that in a visual representation... much more difficult. As Wiz noted the visual atmosphere alone, perhaps can't carry the weight.

I do appreciate your comments. It provides me with an other observers.
