Doc Henry Posted September 25, 2011 Share #1 Posted September 25, 2011 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) Here is a picture for Abel , taken from le Brévent at 1500 m (opposite the Mont Blanc 4800 m) , in the 1980s, where we can see "le Mont Blanc" in the clouds, and the famous "Les Bossons" glacier's (tongue-shaped, see map * ) which declined and do not descend more into the valley of Chamonix as in 1980 (global warming). I found it in 2010 It's a disaster! The impressive retirement of glaciers is a sad pain in the heart of mountain lovers of my age... : I have wandered in the same areas (central Alps + Dolomites) for around 40 years, and there are classic ice climbings I made in '75-'80 that today simply do not exist anymore... ... 1 Quote Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

Yes as lover of the mountains and nature, you have also noticed that man is destroying everything that nature has taken thousands of years (or millions of years) to build ! it is the fault of this growth without limits of this consumer society in which we live now ! it's really sad ! all this for money and profit !
