Classic Rolo with that wonderful air or aura, and equally wonderful composition.

This is one of my favorites of your posts so far. The sky looks straight out of a water color. Beautiful.

Thanks for posting this. Truly excellent.

Just for curiosity's sake, I don't suppose you could post the original unedited scan of the negative could you?

Gordon,

here is a straight scan for this image, as requested. Quite different from the final piece.

Rolo,

thanks for that - it's very interesting and informative to see the "before" and "after".

Indeed, extremely interesting. Thanks a lot. The final image is truly wonderful. I stayed up way too late the other night going through your "back catalogue". It is an extremely impressive body of work. Congratulations.

Rolo,

Very nice indeed. The before and after is remarkable and very useful to see.

Thanks.

Did that myself some weeks ago. Was truly impressed myself - who is this guy??

It's surprising how it comes together and how a style develops. Hadn't realised it was happening to me, but with the benefit of the 'electronic catalogue' it becomes obvious that these pics have common 'looks'. I think, on balance, that's an OK thing ?

It's a combination of the photographer's approach to the subject matter and a fairly consistant workflow and approach to printmaking.

Thanks to all for your comments.

This is yet another excellent shot Rolo.

But I have to ask, what do you do when the sun's shining <grin>

Hope the new job is going well!

By the way, I've just bought a used 24mm ASPH - you may remember we discussed that in Chester. They seem to be as rare as hen's teeth at the moment.

Hi Steve,

Sun is the last thing that's needed in photo work. Always ruins a good sky.

Good to hear that you found the money for the 24mm. I'm impressed by mine. Commercial Cameras in Craven Arms have a mint one in stock. It's where I bought mine and good to deal with.

Job is going well for this stage in the process. As always, every prospect when contacted isn't interested anymore and my email service has taken 2 weeks to set up. More to the point, the product is first class and there's tremendous interest from the USA.
