I think the combination of M8 and Super Wide Heliar is great.
As you can see one of them has been enlarged and is now being used as a reference print for the M8 in a store.

Very impressive.
These M8 images are the first that really touch me and show its capability (and your's of course). They are tremendous. Rolo |

thanks, here are some more, first one 15mm, the others noctilux @ 1.0
indoor shot: ISO 160, f8, 1/4 sec, mini tripod, DNG, C1, photoshop. I see the M8 as an analog camera which happens to have a digital slide film in it... and I treat it like that. Luigi's case's reardoor stays closed. Almost no WB, except when I would have used a 80B filter with my M6. I try to keep the feeling of the natural light as much as possible. I like to photograph in twilight or in ambient light. The M8 is perfect for that, especially with the noctilux. cheers

Fletch -
Your philosophy regarding treating the M8 as an analogue camera with digital slide film is an interesting one, and at least in part no doubt what the camera's designeers had in mind. Lovely photos all, showing you clearly have a good eye. I like the detail, colors (with wonderful delicacy) and composition. Your two posts almost amount to a capabilities presentation portfolio. |

Thank you Stuart.
I hesitated for a long time whether I should buy the M8 or not, I finally did, and I never regreted it. It took me a while to realize how to handle the camera, but once I understood the concept I described before, I think I really got the spirit of the camera. Haven't used my M6 since. BTW none of the three last photos would have been possible with the M6.

Truando,
a lovely series of photographs. I agree that your first wide shot is immense, a powerful photograph. Your Noct photos demonstrate the ability of this complicated lens, the M8 and your eye. Congratulations

The concert hall photo is stunning. The symetry is excellent. Also the clever off centre focus of the girl in the bar. A fantastic composition and shot. No wonder the shop wants to use your work to advertise the cameras.

thank you
the prints are amazing. so much detail! I had a Mamiya 7 for many years, I believe the m8 is in the same league resolution wise - but with a F1.0 lens instead of F4.0 ! We're talking 4 stops here!!!

Beautiful shot of the concert hall. Where is the hall located? Was this a rehersal or intermission when you took the image (sparse audience)? I'm looking forward to using the CV 15 (on order) with my M8 as it seems to produce stunning images.

this is the victoria hall in geneva. it was a rehearsal, and I was the pianist taking a break. that's the sort of things I do when taking a break.
the lens is a gem! I was positively surprised by it's breathtaking quality.
