This shot is something special with what is often a very mundane subject. The light is super.

JB -

The strange light and strange, subtle colors are stunning. Is this what it looked like? Did you achive this post production?

Great atmosphere. I really like the colors in this photo. I think it'd work well in B&W too. Well captured.

Default AW: Boxcar

THanks for the feedback guys!
It was special light ... just a short break in the sky between two snowstorms ...!
The red of the boxcar is a bit more saturated than it was in the real scene .. but not very much ...

As Stuart says, very strange, portentous light...rather eerie shot. The half-open door of the boxcar suggests that Something is in there, and it's going to come out...
Thanx for showing.
cheers:
Sam

It has a real painterly look to it, turning a mundane subject into a lovely image.

J,

As stated above, the light is very special and well captured. I like the sharpness throughout the image too. It compliments the light nicely.

Compliments on the photo...
plus, any story behind the boxcar?
Looks like it may have housed an office or maybe it was for animal transport?
The curved roof and chimney sort of peaked my interest.
Thanks

Wow, missed that one.

Superb... moody, well processed and full of emotion.

The Sharpness , colour and composition are perfect and make this picture outstanding ... it's not easy to photograph an old train wagon and make it look interesting . However , you've done exactly that ...
