Default Where I'd rather be right now

Lindos, Rhodes Greece. I just came accross this shot from my archives and thought how I'd like to be there right now. It's got lovely beaches (sandy ones!) and the town is beautiful. I'm pretty sure this was the R3 with 35mm. Mauve graduated filter and polariser.

Such a well balanced photo - does look inviting.

Thanks for showing.

James -

This works so well because of the light at the early hour, and the lack of the hoards of people who will be crawling all over the Lindos castle within the next couple of hours.

I can see I have a minority view, but I wondered why you chose to use a mauve filter. The sky looks as though it should be deep blue.

Many thanks for the comments.

David, the photo was taken late evening. As I recall I was attracted by the light - the contrast between light and shade - but the sky was rather uninteresting and pale (not deep blue, even with the pola) hence the use of the filter.

Regards
