Hmmm... Due to the sight and hair of the cows, I dare to say this is located southern of Vallée de la Loire, close to Limoges or Périgord.

Sweet countryside atmosphere, that I liked so much during holidays, when young.

Have you read all my favourite books! Did you see the wonderful dramatisation BBC2 did in their glory days with Roy Dottrice, Cyril Cusak etc?
