Yes, it was the weekend of the 11/12th, with the meeting on the 11th as usual.
I am checking Sleazy every day and when the flights are up, I'll post a link here.

I've posted this in the Bar too, but if anyone can still find an Independent for this Saturday (22nd March) the "48 Hours In" section in the centre of the travel supplement is on Krakow.
If you miss it, go to The Independent Website. These little guides are great for giving a flavour of a place. Regards, Bill

Good article. The first two hotels they mention are VERY expensive for Krakow but as they say no more than many other European cities. I have heard that prices are starting to creep up there, as it has now become very popular for weekenders/stag & hen parties, which is a shame but inevitable.
As for airlines, I only heard about this one recently Wizz Air Very low fares, although flights from Gatwick are very late in the day. Worth a look. I'm hoping to make a visit prior to the challenge, if I do I'll gather lots of info to post up here. |

Ronald,
I've already been, and identified good locations photography-wise, that's why I suggested Krakow in the first place I want to go again to see a Polish band I know - if I can ever find out when they're playing !!!! and for the cheap beer , but I need to make sure the restuarant I have in mind is still up to the required standard. In the meantime...... |

Were they doing the hokey-cokey in the first picture, James? Or have they succumbed to the Lynx effect...?

Easyjet flights not up yet, but they are having a sale until the end of March, so I would expect them to release winter flights next week some time.
Alternatives are actually very expensive. Getting from Edinburgh, for example, is not easy without them. Best fare I have found this morning is over £300...

At that price I'd take a week or two off work and drive. My current contract is due to end at the end of September, so if it's not extended it would be tempting to do that anyway.

They fly from Glasgow too and most other parts of the country. I may wait for easyjets prices to come up though as I prefer to fly from Gatwick and the Wizzair flight times from Gatwick are quite late.

I phoned Easyjet on the way home tonight.
I was told that winter flights (i.e. > 1/10/08) would be on sale towards the end of JUNE or early July. Sounds like they are hedging their bets re Jet A fuel to me. ![]()

OK. I'm running a serious 'what if' scenario here. If at all possible I will attempt to join in the Krakow 'One Challenge'.
I am travelling to Morocco from Australia (again! - unfinished 'business!') and am trying to justify a sidetrack to Krakow. I have nearly worked out a travel plan via Paris to Warsaw (flying) and then train to Krakow. Now, my real problem is accommodation (cheap). Anything I see on the net is not cheap, but am wondering if I can trust just arriving and finding 'cheap' on the ground, or would that be foolish? I normally do that, in Morocco for example, it works really well. But Poland!! any advise from you guys? Has anyone booked a bed yet? How much? I can flex with any situation, but just want a place to rest my head and wash my feet, so to speak. All opinions valued. ![]()
