Darn it! I was banking on Andy bringing his DMR so that I could try a battery as my charger has gone on the blink and is now on holiday in Milton Keynes. Both my DMR batteries are now as flat as pancakes!
Never mind, my trusty old LC1, now on it's second sensor and been around the world with me twice is still going strong and with a very robust charger and two batteries. Cost a fraction of the DMR.........makes you think a bit! See you all tomorrow........forecasting a scorcher of a day too. Dress attire on their web site looks good to me, just my sort of pub, not a tie in sight! (hope that they serve cider though!) |

Is the meeting time at The Turf agreed to be about one o'clock for a light snack/lunch? The reason I ask is if people want to see the Ansel exhibition and play tourist
then the time spent in the pub is likely to be short, so there's a chance that early or late arrivals would miss everyone. It would be better to specify a time window in which to meet, say 1-2pm for example.Bob. |

I will try to get there at 12.30 and bag a table outside, to the left of the pub as you stand looking at the entrance - warm weather is forecast. I'll probably be wearing a navy (Oxford!) blue shirt, plus a broad smile if the beer is up to standard.
For the unwary, don't bother trying to park in Oxford unless you are only spending three hours there. You can park for three hours round the corner from the Turf in Mansfield Road (for £3 in the meter, I think). Otherwise you would do better to use one of the park-and-rides that are on the N, S, E, & W edges of town. They offer a regular, quick bus service into the centre. Looking forward to seeing everyone. Thanks, I am sure I'll spot you all. Can I bring my 5D no I did not mean that LOL, if its going to be hot I would not want to be carrying it around anyway.
For anyone that has a bit of time to spare the Museum of the History of Science in Broad Street has some old photographic equipment in the basement displays. One of my favourite museum's but that is another story, Jeff |
