Applejack2409 Posted October 9, 2014 Share #1 Posted October 9, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have just been chatting with another M user and we would like to get together with some other like minded people to meet somewhere here in Brisbane. How many of us are there? Would you like to meet somewhere on a Sunday for a coffee and BS session?

Applejack2409 Posted October 9, 2014 Author Share #3 Posted October 9, 2014 Great Gary, I'll talk to you in a PM. We in Australia are a bit isolated from the rest of the Leica world and it would be nice to meet up with you.

hoppyman Posted October 11, 2014 Share #7 Posted October 11, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) Applejack you might be surprised how many Leica users there are in Oz though. Through on-line communities like this and shops and the like, I've met up with quite a few fellow enthusiasts here and in other places. Not all M (typ 240) users, true. Applejack2409 Posted October 11, 2014 Author Share #8 Posted October 11, 2014 I know you are right, Hoppyman. But I don't think they are online. Can't afford a computer after buying a Leica.
JohnReid Posted October 14, 2014 Share #9 Posted October 14, 2014 Greetings from Kangaroo Point! I am an M user and would love to meet up with similarly-minded nuts - I like rangefinders and find the pitying looks from DSLR users a pain after a while... Neil Ringe Posted October 15, 2014 Share #10 Posted October 15, 2014 I live near Mullumbimby and would like to join in if I could. I get up to Brisbane from time to time.
hoppyman Posted October 15, 2014 Share #11 Posted October 15, 2014 Just suggest a day and area/location and venue? I'll certainly come along if I can. I have met fellow Leica users quite a few times in quite a number of places including in Brisbane. It needn't be a formal occasion or too organised. A coffee shop or just a place to stroll perhaps. Places like the Brisbane Powerhouse are very popular and offer a lot of space and interest for example.
rirakuma Posted October 15, 2014 Share #12 Posted October 15, 2014 I'd love to meet up but I work every weekend
mitasol Posted October 16, 2014 Share #13 Posted October 16, 2014 I'd be keen to catch up. I'll be in Brisbane late Dec into early Jan. I live in Brisbane but work in PNG. Cheers
hoppyman Posted November 7, 2014 Share #14 Posted November 7, 2014 Because the proposed meeting date and venue are squarely within the G20 disruptions, the only option for me from the southwest suburbs is two hours each way by train and walking plus whichever security inspections/delays may be involved. Buses will be impossible and car access/parking is hardly likely to be better! Perhaps for visitors staying within the death zones:rolleyes: the venue and date may make perfect sense! Pick anywhere else in Brisbane outside the restricted areas and I'll make my best efforts to attend and bring lots of Leica stuff to be played with.
