Well it's been three months since the Melbourne meeting and challenge.

Is there interest in a Sydney meeting in the coming months?

Perhaps if those interested could each suggest three weekends perhaps after September that would suit we should be able to satisfy everyone.

I'm more than happy to coordinate everything and suggest possible locations for another challenge: inner-city city, inner-city grunge (Kings Cross/Darlinghurst/East Sydney), Cabramatta (a bit like a trip to Vietnam without leaving Australia), harbour & surrounds (scenic/industrial), Bondi Beach or other costal areas, etc. Daytime or some night photography. Maybe even two days over the weekend at a few different locations.

Regards to all,

Mark

Mark, sounds like you have some comprehensive alternatives proposed. Great idea. There is a possibility I may come but a more pressing opportunity is currently distracting me. More details later. Regardless, I endorse the idea to others in the wake of the Melbourne success from several months ago.

It sounds like a great idea, although, and harking back to our previous conversation, I obviously have no idea about the city I grew up in and left years ago.

We are coming to the end of our time in Hobart, and will be traveling North, car, dog, pots and pans, heading back to Brisbane about then, so after synchronizing drop-ins with rellies and friends along the way, I would put dibs in for the weekend of the 11th and 12th of October. Owzat, umpire? :)

I'm an obsessive-compulsive lurker on this forum (doesn't sound good I know) but have never posted anything, not even in the introductions thread. I'd be keen though to join in on an LUF Sydney get-together and meet all you interesting people. Any weekend in October suits me at this stage, except Sunday 5th. Sunday 12th is the camera market in Ultimo if anyone is interested in that.

As it turns out I'll be in Melbourne September 18 to 21 if anyone there is interested in a coffee or drink.

Thank you forthe welcome, Mark. Right now I'm good for any of those weekends in October, except for the one I mentioned. In November I'm booked up on Sundays 2nd and 30th. It would be a shame I think to miss out on seeing JD Sheepdog if October is the only time he can make it to Sydney.

Mark, I would be wise to recommend sticking with an October date if that suits most. Changing it just for me may not work as I don't know my cirsumstances in November anyway. Also, I think to accommodate Peter as new member would be good.

My circumstances are frequently fluid so I will still keep an eye out for the final agreed date.

Mark,

While that weekend is an obvious one for me, as the ship I have been overseeing will be gone (please god, let it be gone, a year of nursing it into existence is enough) and we will be heading North from Hobart then anyway, I can try to make another weekend work. "No worries, cobber, she'll be right." :D

We both miss Brisbane and our own poor neglected boat, and I will try yet again to retire. Whoopee!

PS Can someone explain to me how to put a picture where you want it, rather than it placing itself at the end of the text?

Place the cursor where you want in the text box before inserting the image

or

Move it by cutting and pasting the image to wherever you want by selecting all the picture info including the outer parentheses [xxx] xxxxxxx [xxx].

Adespen, very hospitable of you. I'll be in touch via this thread or PM closer to the time. I'll have time to fill in while my wife is at a conference and after I've finished my own meetings.

Do try and make it to Sydney. As Mark says, dates are open at this stage.
