Participants are invited to post their outtakes from the Challenge shoot. In my experience, the outtakes are frequently better that the entries! Says something about our (mine anyway) editing abilities!

Here are a few of my many outtakes. I hope to see many more added from you all.

My out takes.

My competition submission was #9 - one point :(.

So I'm a crap photographer and/or crap editor but it was a fun day regardless :)

Thanks for looking

MarkP, I think its as Erl (John) suggested, all in the editing..

Love the selfie and tunnel effect in #1, interest grabbing geometrics in #2,

and love the action caught and shapes of #3

Thanks for your contribution.:)

Mark, you are definitely a crap editor!

Any of your outtakes would have rated highly - even won!?

Ah, but it was the fun that got us all in.

Also, a bit of an oversight. We Melbournians really appreciated Sydney siders and Hobart denizens making the big effort to travel to join us. A real buzz!

That second one is lovely John.

Have you tried it in B&W ? ..

That would have been a very strong entry, in my opinion!!!

Thanks for the encouragement. I have never before really tried "street" photography, as pictures of picturesque (?) destitute people with a lot of hair living in a pile of trash, which much of it seems to be, have never struck me as high art.

These kids were just hanging out at the top of the fire escape stairs (the lift was broken) of a large parking lot, and it was a great example of setting focus by the scale, the 28 mm Elmarit pointed roughly in the right direction, not lifted above my waist, and the wonderfully quiet M240 shutter.

They had no idea I was even taking the picture.

I have not tried it in B & W, I shall. I am still struggling to learn my way around LR, and it is the basics of catalogue organization etc that I am having the most grief with. It will improve, I'm sure.

Thanks again. :)

All the above seem to confirm my long held belief that the best pics don't make it into to final selection!

Why are we such poor editor's of our own work?

Have to agree with you completely on that score.

All of the participants so far that have shown the outtakes (me included) support that view.

Just love seeing all of these, well done Gordon on this set and again to the others.:):)
