markrune Posted February 10, 2013 Share #1 Posted February 10, 2013 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) Unfortunately the castle is closed for redevelopment until spring 2014 so I am suggsting we meet on Sunday 2nd June as:- 1) It is the weekend of the Oyster Fair - so if we go to lower castle park (there will be a small admission fee) but an opportunity to photograph things medieval including re-enactors. 2) Colchester is very crowded and parking is not great on Saturdays but cheap and plentiful on Sundays The itinerary can include:- St Botolphs Priory Oyster Fayre Hollytrees Museum - Colchester & Ipswich Museums St Johns Abbey Gate and Other Churches Let me know who would be interested in a meeting and we can plan from there Mark Edited February 10, 2013 by markrune

Seeingeye Posted February 12, 2013 Share #6 Posted February 12, 2013 Unfortunately I could not make the Ipswich meeting, but I'll see if I can get to this one. My grandmother used to live near to Colchester so I often went there as a boy, but have not been near the place in years.
