London Meet ??

Recommended Posts

It's been suggested that it would be nice to have a London meet before the summer monsoon rains really take hold :)

How about either Sunday 22nd or Saturday 28th, itinerary TBA ?

There should be lots to see and photograph...

July, I presume?

22 July would be better as the Olympics will have started by the 28th which will make getting around a bit more interesting. ;)

Definitely July - the Sunday could be nice (we haven't met on a Sunday for a while) equally an 'Olymic Saturday' could generate some interesing photographs....:D

22nd July sounds good to me, Robert, please count me in. The only thing i'm aware of that it 'clashes' with is the Bristol Harbour Festival.

A (later) Olympic Saturday is likely to be a nightmare travel-wise.:(

That's next Sunday - obviously...

Yes it looks like we're aiming for next Sunday, 22nd July - as far as I know there is nothing organised for the Harbour Festival at Bristol but the hardcore enthuisast could do the Harbour Festival (which is 20 - 22 July) Friday or Saturday, then the London meet Sunday...

Sunday 22nd July, 11:30 am, location The London Salon of Photography

Well guys I hope you have a good meet on Sunday. One day I'm gonna get to London. I'll be thinking of you but as its Trisha's birthday we're all out for lunch. Hope the weather stays good for you ??

Hopefully I'll see some of you at the next Bristol Meet in September. ;)

Best wishes

Just to say look forward to seeing everyone on Sunday at The London Film Museum at 11:30 (am :D).

For information the nearest tube is Covent Garden (Piccadilly Line), or Leicester Square (Northern Line or Piccadilly Line).

Thanks to Mike's friend David for suggesting the location .

ps. Bring your iPad - the museum has a new iPad friendly tour commentary.

What a super day. Excellent company and excellent food. Thanks for organising this Robert :).

Only downside was after an excellent group meal at the New World Chinese Restaurant in Gerrard Place two of us decided to have coffee at The Rendezvous Cafe in Leicester Square. Talk about Olympic ripoff, more than £11.50 for two cappuccinos! The warning signs were there though - no prices displayed anywhere for anything. I guess the usual price is around £3.20, tourists beware! Once bitten never again .

Disappointed I missed this one. Have been away a lot recently and hadn't checked the Members Meeting section. Would certainly been up for it had I known. That'll teach me a lesson. Sounded to have been a good event and the weather was kind. Hopefully catch up with you next time.

One would like to think that people will remember these ripoff merchants and they will quickly go out of business after the Olympic circus is over. A forlon hope, no doubt.

We can't leave David out :D.

And the Cappuccinos in the second picture were a reasonable £2.20 at the LFM :).
