Shall we?

Following on from the sucess of our meet at the end of April I was

wondering if folks would like to give it another go. One thing that

stood out like a sore thumbs last time was that there is a lot to see

in this city.

I was thinking that the first or second weekend in September whilst,

hopefully, the weather is still on our side. So that will be either the

1st or the 8th Sept. Neither date is cast in stone so if anyone has

another preference that is more suitable to the group then fire away!

Last time we had seven of us in attendance which would seem to be

an easy record to beat ;)

We don't seem to be summoning too much interest at this stage.

Plenty of people reading the thread but very few replies

Have we picked a bad time for people? If so, speak up please.

ignorance)

....I knew you'd take it well....:D

I don't know what heritage weekends are either....

I enjoyed the last meet and would be interested in a return visit. Do you have any suggestions for places we could visit this time? Is the area around the SS Great Britain of interest, for example?

Regards

Mike

Its nice to walk along the Waterfront past M Shed (the old Industrial Museum) and then make your way along past the Great Britain, and the Mathew if shes in, to the Cumberland Basin. Some quite nice stop off points there and also excellent views of the Clifton Skyline.

Best wishes

OK, so far the suggestion is that we meet up at the Mud Dock, as we

did in April, on Saturday 8th September, between 10am and 11am

for coffee.

Here's a link to the Mud Dock's website:

We found that the car park there is a very reasonable price per day and

it is also quite convenient for Bristol Temple Meads Railway Station.

It might be nice to head off in a different direction to last time with an aim

to take in the SS Great Britain, Millenium Square and other sites along

the harbour. We may end up at some point in the Pump House pub as

suggested last time to rest our weary feet :D
