Default Anyone likely to be at the Robert White BIG week-end?

The Robert White trade show is on today and tomorrow at Bournemouth (UK) Arts Centre.
Leica will be in attendance I believe. Is anyone interested in meeting there tomorrow?

Obviously not!!

Well there were two sales guys from Leica UK on the Leica stall, one advising on M8 and D3, the other optical products and..............R/DMR. However there was absolutely no R products whatsoever, not even a leaflet!

When I queried this the chap answering R/DMR questions advised that Robert White specifically asked for nothing to be shown on the R line, as it didn't sell! (this was confirmed by Robert White staff later). I did point out to the Leica guy that products did need to be promoted for them to sell!! It seems that Robert White are "order takers" rather than "order makers". Fortunately most mainstream UK Leica dealers are just the opposite.

Anyway, in answer to my question about an update to the DMR firmware, he advised that it will be ready end of April or early May and that it would be release 1.26. I did point out that we were promised this 1/2 months ahead lark way back last year! He apologised for Leica but said that whenever they were ready to rease it something new came up on the Forum "wish list", so they had decided to defer it to get it as right as possible.

Well I am just the messenger so don't shoot me, but I at least I am hopeful this time.
