I mean, ultimately it will have to be the Nikon 9000, but for now...

Sorry, Allan, we're hijacking your thread, it'll be my last off subject post. Tomorrow I'll post my new MP instead.

I would rather take the mp and 35mm lens, because the 503cx with an 80mm lens got the same field of view as the leica with 50mm, so you would be shooting almost the same images on 6x6 and 35mm. This can be fun, but perhaps you will find it a bit boring.

This tread is better than any advertising, i want a leica mp

I would rather take two MPs,
one with 100 ASA and the other with 400 ASA Film loaded.
For easy useing the silver for 100 ASA and the black for 400 ASA.

I had this combination (M6TTL not MP) with me in the eastern part of cuba in january 2006 plus my Hassi 500c/m with the Planar 80/2.8 and it worked fine.
But I decided each day in the morning if I take the Leica or the Hasselblad bag with me and left the other in the room.

It’s so easy to simplify your live,
reduce all your equipment,
sell all unnecessary gadgets and load your two MPs with FP4 and TriX,
or TMX 125 and 400 ASA,
maybe Neopan 400, why not.
Three 'crons, 35, 50 and 90mm,
that’s all

What do you think how much more simple your life can get if you sell everything and keep only one Hasselblad 500c/m with the Planar 80/2,8, one Magazin A12 and one roll of TRI-X?

Indeed

One fine product there OPAD

Excellent choice of lens as well

Get out and enjoy her, then post some photos in the Photo Section

Welcome to our mutual Leica MP support group and poorhouse

Seriously, there's no better investment I've ever made both photographically and fiscally than my Leica kit

Thanks

Allan

Thanks, Allan. No fear I will use this little baby! I posted some pictures here (they're M8, though...) if you want to look what kind of stuff I do:

http://www.l-camera-forum.com/leica-...ron-japan.html

RE the investment: I've bought and sold 6 used M6's and several lenses to date - always made money with it. So in a way the MP was free. This one's here to stay, though. I will never ever sell it! EVER!

Nice camera On Pic. So pleased you're obviously delighted with it on arrival.

I'll watch carefully to see your early results and note if the image content varies with the greater capability of the MP over the M8, or whether the reduced 'convenience & efficiency' of the MP influences your work.

All interesting, light-hearted stuff. Looking forward to seeing your pics. Don't forget to post them here too.

Best,

Rolo

interesing comment, Rolo. I must say though that I always have the M8 on manual and that my screen stays covered by a half case.

but still - it's a different feel with the MP, and the actual moment you shoot is a much more unique experience. with the M8 you tend to shoot much more.

They can say what they want - film is different, even if the camera would look and feel exactly the same as its digital counterpart. and at the moment I like it much, much better.

BTW: I took the camera to bed with me and it was the first thing I grabbed upon waking up, much to the disappointment of my girlfriend.

OK, I know it should be in the photo section, but this is my first MP photo, and I just have to upload it. Thanks for your understanding... This was 5 minutes before a major storm rolled in - you can see it from the dark part on the bottom, which is the reflexion of the storm clouds in the water.

Shot on Velvia 100F with a Voigtlander 15mm Super Wide Heliar, full frame.

I love this camera.

Very nice image OP. Looks as though you've used an underwater housing.

Only one frame on the rollo ?? Ha.

you've changed your avatar...

you want me to post 36 photos?? But seriously, regarding those 36 frames: I had a correct exposure rate of 100%. And that's with slide film, first roll ever. The meter of the MP is amazing and works exactly as expected.

Change the avatar on occasion. Was using mickey, now using Superman.

I doubt that all 36 frames were 100% (that's just to give you a reason to post the other 35 ... Ha). Post another 6 from the same roll to demonstrate the consistent exposure meter capability of the MP.

Without knowing for how long, I've had a failing shutter on MP, so I've no idea what 100% exposure quality is like. As Service Tracking at Solms no longer responds for me I assume my baby is on it's way back. Looking forward to it.

Your image was really great, as was the square one posted on Flickr.

Definitely the pinnacle. There's nothing about this camera I don't love. Will probably be getting one of my own within the year.

Love your Japan series, by the way.
