Well - I bought an M2 and Elmar 35mm

Some may remember my earlier posts which were about how I was interested in the photography and techniques of James Ravilious. He gravitated towards the early uncoated Leitz lenses, namely (I believe) Elmar 50mm and 35mm and Hektor 28mm lenses.
I had a Leica 1 with fixed (and perfect) Elmar 50mm, but I always tend to see subjects in wider angle than this, and don't really fancy working with f6.3 as the widest stop which the Hektor offers, so needed an Elmar 35mm. Plus I needed a body.
Now I'm all sorted!
I am evolving an over-expose/under-develop process which currently shows good results for FP4 rated at 64asa and given N-1 dev in HC110 for 5 mins, and am working towards Tri-x at 200asa which will, I think, end up at about 6 mins in dilution H HC110.
So, with both Elmars in tow I'm off and running. I'd like to show you some of the photographs,and I'm not sure how to do this within the forum.
So I've activated some free web-space that I get with my ISP and have spent an hour or two putting together some images and thoughts on processes and lenses and the whole Leitz uncoated thing. If anyone has the time and inclination to have a look at the link below I'd love to hear back, via the forum, your take on my thoughts and your opinion about where I'm going. There are about, I don't know... 15? low-res images, but I guess broadband would be a good idea. I hope you find the time to persevere to the bottom of the web page as I ask some questions there.

Thanks for pointer on how to put images up here. However I'm stuck at the first hurdle and can't find a control panel let alone edit options and any sorts of choices about the interface... Could someone point me towards it please?
And, then, should I put a few images onto the thread itself in the Film area, or should I put them in the Photo Forum with a ref to them on the Film Forum or should I just put them on the Photo Forum and hope us filmers go and look? Or should I do what I did and refer to another web page outside the Leica Forum...? I only want to put three or so images on and see what you all think of them.

The control panel section is accessed via the link "User CP", which is in the top bar, on the left on every page.

Upload the shots into the Photo section. Film users will find them but by all means post the link back here.

You will end up with an input screen that looks like this. Note the paperclip icon, which is the one referred to in the linked page above.

Very nice pictures indeed.

Two things occur to me. The old Elmars hold up very well indeed - not a real surprise. And combined with the always wonderful M2 - well, that's great.

It also supports a very well known secret - Tri-X and HC 110. It is a great combination that has been the basis for many great pictures by many big-time names.

I like the fact that you also show some Olympus shots which from the web viewing, look a bit "crisper" than your elamr ones

I know you are striving for that Leica "look' and it is proving evasive for you as I read in your comments on the images....

I think it is a very interesting discussion...sometimes I think I see it in some of my shots but when I really view the whole image, particularly the lighting I think it often comes down to exactly that, the lighting and bang on exposure.

Needless to say I have fun chasing that look and do sem to get more of it as I shoot more.But at the end of the day the shooting needs to be fun and a comfortable experience.Sometimes I loke my old Nikon F3, automated, great lenses etc....but then I still crave for my simple Leica II and elmar...depends often on my mood.

anyway great to see your shots and follow your thoughts...keep em coming.
