The latest Split Grade program (V2.6) (Heiland) is just released.
New papers: FOMA Variant III RC, FOMA Variant 311, FOMABROM Variant 111 FB, FOMATONE MG Classic 131 FB, ROLLEI Vintage 311. The paper channels for KODAK and ORIENTAL, which are out of production has been deleted.

I would be interested in some experience-based comment on the Splitgrade device. It looks like a great step forward - but it is not cheap and not common in North America.
Cheers, Michael |

Cheap is nothing in a professional way, neither the Heiland Split Grade. However the system works in a very clever practical way.
Every 3 year a new computer, a professional printer, a new DSLR is not cheap either. An M4-2 or M6 or M7 or MP and some lenses are not cheap either but normally they have a longer life expectation then 3 years or so. All enlargers with modular build modules are quiet easy to change for Split Grade printing: LPL/Jobo, V35, Dunco II 66/67, however a weak US$ makes every product from Europe a problem at the moment. http://www.fotohuisrovo.nl/documenta...3_Englisch.pdf and the principle: http://www.fotohuisrovo.nl/documenta...dePrinting.pdf

I bought a Splitgrade for my Leic V35 a number of years ago and it was at that time much cheaper to order direct from Heiland than to go through the American Distributor. The Euro was as strong in those days though. Robert |

Robert - now that you have used the Splitgrade for some years, would you buy it again? Michael Last edited by Michael Hiles : 05/05/08 at 04:08 PM. |
