It is your first name !
Look at my photos - thats what happens if you call yourself Dirk.
With that name, you really don' t have any chance...

To make a long story short: change your firstname. If not - you have to cope with it...

Some people say, if you walk like Cartier-Bresson, your photos get instantly better than before.

Me, I tried to touch the frame of Salgados photos at the exhibition.. but it didn' t help either..

cheers,
the other Dirk

Dirk - you should obviously use Nikon as Andreas reports Salgado uses these now.

I put a smiley as I do sincerely hope you are not labouring under the misapprehension that the film and camera you use will magically transform you into Salgado.
Imitation may be the sincerest form of flattery but it is your voice you should be seeking not an imitation of another.

chris,

we both - the other Dirk as well as me - have a sort of very british-like humor... perhaps too dark and too british for some guys... obviously you did not understand it at once....

In fact, "tolled" did - that´s for shure - intend to say exactly what you did, but in a much more ironic way and just with other words...

take it easy..

cheers
Dirk

Dirk AND Dirk

I must have had my irony detector turned off or I have been over at dp-review too much recently

You should move to Paris, first. And shoot 90% with Tri-X and 10% with TMax 3200. Other ratios do not work.
