Hasselblad - Film back liner

I know I am hijacking this forum, but many people here appear to have or have owned Hasselblads ...

I have just acquired an A12 back and the dark slide is difficult to insert with a fair amount of rubber being deposited on the slide. After opening the film back it is clear that the rubber seal is being forced back on itself when I insert the slide. There is also no foam between the foil just another piece of foil.

I have contacted Hasselblad UK for spare parts regarding the foil, foam and rubber seal and I am waiting for a reply. However, does anyone know where I can get these parts so I can replace the parts myself ?

Thanks, David

Wil van Manen, asides from leica repairs, also repairs Hasselblads. Not sure if he sells spares though.

I have no experience with him, but Wilco Jansen in the Netherlands offers Hasselblad repairs as well, but also sells the spare parts. You might want to check with him. http://www.hasselblad-reparaties.nl

I had a response from Camtech who have quoted £29, which does seem expensive for some foam and foil - I am tempted to have a go with some items from a craft shop !

I have contacted Wilco Jansen, so will see what he says.

The light trap seal that Tom linked to is the way to go. Also, you may need to look at the rectangular seal behind the magazine interface with the camera. Very easy to replace. Googling is probably the best way to find the seals.

Thanks all.

Googling is the way forward, but you do need to be exact in the wording; I used every word but 'seal'. Fortunately, Wilco Jansen pointed me in the right direction, however, he only deals in 'quantities' rather than a couple or so.

Hasselblad UK got back to me this morning and provided a very competitive quote (though they only order from Sweden once per month):

The "V" series A12 light trap is made up of two parts which can be ordered as follows:

Part No.: 13508 - Foil @ £.5.10 plus vat and postage.

Part No.: 13067 - Light Trap @ £6.90 plus vat and postage.

Part No.: 41068 - Hasselblad Magazine Slide @ £6.50 plus vat and postage.

However, as I will be going away tomorrow I had already made the decision to purchase from the following, which required the ebay location filter set to worldwide:

Hasselblad Light Trap Seal New Set for All Magazines with Instructions | eBay

They appear to have good feedback and are cheaper.
