M7 half case question. Ever-ready?

Does anyone have a half-case for their m7 that they like?

I see you can get the Leica ever-ready in two models the 14870 and the 14875 for fairly inexpensively, but I can't figure how the half-case fit. Does anyone know how the exposure compensation ring, scale and button work with the leica ever ready half cases?

A photo of the back of the camera with either the 14870 or the 14875 would be terrific.

Thanks!

I have an M7 in the Leica case. I'm not sure which case this is (Leica model #) but I'll try to post a picture or two.

You can see the case covers the exposure comp dial and release button. As I don't use exposure comp (who does on an M7?!), it's not an issue for me. The case fits very well -- I'd recommend it.

This question probably begs a new thread, but why wouldn't you want to use the exposure compensation?

I'm handy enough with the metering where I almost exclusively use the camera in aperture priority mode and adjust with the compensation. No way I could use a case without access to that.

The main reason I was looking at the leica case was because I really want a full case to carry the camera in my back pack. I'm looking for the smallest possible way to give the camera + 35mm summicon a bit of protection. I don't really need the half case.

Roadracer -- my comment was made (mostly) in sarcasm. Exposure Comp is great if that is a system which works effectively for you. For myself, if I know I need to override the camera's metering logic, I'll dial-in the shutter speed manually. If you're pushing or pulling the ISO on the film AND using the ISO reader on the M7, Exposure Comp would be useful. Again, I override the sensor and "force" my ISO setting via the dial so I'd never need Exposure Comp for that purpose either.

But it's great if you can use the Exposure Comp function -- that's what it's there for!

The Zhou leather half case is excellent on the M7. It fits very nicely and provides grip and protection for the body. The Zhou case isn't quite as good with the M9 as the case is quite thick and makes the body even thicker, but the M7 case is fine for me.
