Maybe someone has got the problem I have had with my Flextight Precion II, it is broken.

Imacon does not give any support for this old fellows as we know, so I thought this is the end.

I a old thread on the German side of the forum I found an adress in UK, Hasselblad UK, but they told me there is no support anymore from them.

But, thanks so much,....they gave me an adress in Kopenhagen/Denmark, www.b23.dk.

There is my scanner in the moment and they still do the repairs and maintenence with the Imacon Flextight Precisons and the 343,

My Flextight Precision II is back from Kopenhagen.

They did the repairs and checked it totally, the tubes, the lens, the sensor, the drum and the power unit.

They did the full maintenance, cleaning, adjusting and new calibrating.

Wonderful:)

With shipping from Kopenhagen to Berlin 600€ net, that's pretty fair in my eyes, having a fresh made Imacon at home.

Especially when I am thinking what I thought before I found them: There is no support for SCSI-Imacons anymore..!!!!!!

But, for god's sake, that's not true anymore:)

Yes, thanks, good to know that there is some support still available. I have spent some time sourcing consumable spare parts for my Precision II, in case its of use here is my current list:

Bulbs

Bulb is specified as an Osram L 8W/12-950 Lumilux DeLuxe Daylight (5400K) but that is no longer available. Nearest is Osram Lumilux DeLuxe L8/954, 8W, 5400K which seem be well used in Europe. Available cheaply (€5.10) in Germany, e.g:

Osram Lumilux-DeLuxe Lampe L 8/954 - g

Belts

The drive belts are of size 6T2.5 245 (belt size and tooth pattern). They are still easily available, e.g:

6T2.5.245 - SYNCHROFLEX - BELT, TIMING, 6X245MM | Farnell UK

Tension Springs

I don't have the original specs for the tension springs, so I measured an old spring (which may have lost a little tension) as:

* pull-to-pull: 34.6mm

* wire diameter: 0.6mm

* diameter: 6mm

* max extension (delta) 44mm (pull-to-pull) 80mm

* 1kg extension (delta) 38mm

There are many spring suppliers available on the web, in the UK I used Associated Spring and selected these as the nearest:

* Extension Springs Music Wire Part Number: E02400261370M (tension 1.33N, rate0.32 N/mm => 1kg extension 27mm)

* Extension Springs Stainless Steel Part Number: E02400261370S (tension 1.11N, rate 0.26N/mm => 1kg extension 33mm)

I don't have any affiliation with any of the above suppliers, but I hope that might be of use to any other Precision II owners - if anyone finds sources of any of the parts I'd be interested to hear. Hopefully with the bulbs, belts and springs being available we can keep these scanners running for a while longer yet.

I have to revive this topic: Is b23 still in business? I always got mailer-demons from them.
