Just thought I'd ask here if anyone has experienced this problem with Photoshop.
Periodically, my cursor changes to the 'hand' shape and there is no way to change it back and all my tools stop working. The only way I have ever found to get it back is to completely re-install Photoshop. I am using CS2 if that helps, Has anyone else experienced this and is it something dumb I am doing? LouisB

Failing that, you shouldn't need to re-install PS. Just exit the program, erase the preferences file, and restart (this might be a good thing to do anyway, since that file can become corrupt and make PS do some funny things...). The easy way to do this with CS2/CS3 (don't know about 4 yet) is to hold down CTRL-ALT-SHFT keys and start Photoshop. It will ask you if you want to delete your preferences file, and you do photoshopHelp: Photoshop Preference Reset For a slightly longer explanation.

I`ve had hand problem with all the Photoshop versions: Elements 6, CS2, CS3 and CS4. The only step I´ve to do is save the image I`m editing and restart the PC and the hand disappears. At the beginning I thought it could be something wrong in my PC but after having commented about the obstinate hand with technical assistance of Adobe I´ve arrived to the conclusion that they know perfectly that the hell of hand is a bug they are not able to solve.
Resetting the Preferences is not necessary and at least in my case I've a lot of work to customize them again. Francisco. |
