wattsy Posted February 25, 2015 Share #2 Posted February 25, 2015 If you contact Google (there is a form on the Nik website) and supply your silver efex serial number they will email you a link to download the latest Nik Collection software. Gabi zohar Posted February 25, 2015 Author Share #3 Posted February 25, 2015 thank you Ian. Leica only send me a serial to Lightroom. did they had to send me a diffrent serial for silver efex ? it is written in Leica benefits page that after installing Lightroom with the serial key they send me, there is no need to register Nik's software ... wattsy Posted February 25, 2015 Share #4 Posted February 25, 2015 It's been a while since I bought my Monochrom (September 2012) so things may have changed. I seem to recall that Leica sent me a serial number for Silver Efex which I used to activate the software that I downloaded from Nik (at that time you had to enter a serial number when you first installed the software). Since then Google acquired Nik and bundled Silver Efex into the Nik Collection. The latter was provided free to registered users of Silver Efex and no longer requires a serial number to install. However, the software itself is normally downloaded via a link that Google provide via email to a registered email address. It is possible that Leica now also provide a direct link to the software – maybe someone who has bought a Monochrom recently could chime in? Edward Louis Marit Posted February 26, 2015 Share #5 Posted February 26, 2015 I bought my monochrom in oct 2012 At that time Leica emailed me a code to download from Nik. Subsequently as you point out Google acquired Nik. Interestingly despite having SFX2 already, last fall when I wanted the rest of the Nik collection I had to buy it. This despite registering with Google via the email they sent me announcing that they had bought Nik. They certainly never sent me the rest of it for free. When I actually went to buy it, it was a large PITA as their order site didn't work properly. So unfortunately I have no idea how one goes about a free download now. It has gotten more rather than less complicated. For what It's worth, when I bought my M and wanted to download LR5 to replace my copy of 4, I could never get the leica site to work. I finally gave up and paid Adobe $79 to upgrade it.
