I think the person who posted this "review" has an extremely limited vocabulary and should seek out a rabies shot ASAP.

This guy manages to distort completely and shamelessly the review published by Tom Abrahamsson on his website.

Tom writes :

Yes,
Leica kindly lent me an M8 to try out. I suspect that they thought "If he likes it, we are on the right track"!

Well, I am happy to say that they are on the right track. The M8 does behave like an M-camera should. It puts minimal "digital" between you and your picture. The first couple of 100 shots were done with everything in "Standard" setting and the prints that my local lab pulled were a bit flat (to be expected as you can manipulate the image in the computer after wards). The next batch was shot with higher contrast settings and came out fine.

On this Skinny guy site, it becomes :
Lastly, from Tom Abrahamsson's review: "Leica kindly lent me an M8 to try out. I suspect that they thought 'If he likes it, we are on the right track!'...the prints that my local lab pulled were a bit flat...

This guy is a fraud.

He says his site is a parody of the forums. But he looks like just another troll to me, desperatly seeking attention.

Doesn't matter who used my comments; I stand by them. Buying a $5K pro camera and THEN being told by the manufacturer that we need to invest another $xxx to make it work right IS stupid.

Question is: who is the more stupider? Leica or we addicts who bought it?

Hmmm?

Let's get plain and simple, for once.
If Leica doesn't succeed, it's dead.
If it's dead, choice will be between
made in Japan and Fabriqué au Japon.
(Hasselblad don't run the 35 mm
race).
It's perfectly right to choose this way.
It's not mine.

I want Leica alive because I cannot
find elsewhere that image quality.
To me, it would be like having only
one alternative : Micro$oft or Dell(ete).
Holy Ghost !

But it is still damage to Leica and damage caused by Leica. It is such a shame to see Leica "self inflicting" so much damage to itself. It reminds me of my teenagers.

I really hope all of this bashing stops soon. I hate, really hate, reading all of the bad press Leica is getting. I just don't know if Leica is solvent enough to handle all of the bad press and fixes. Let's hope so.

Damage? I don't think so, introduce the best ever made anything and you will find folks on the fora's who put it down in each and every possible manner. Especially leica with it's rather strange base of followers is prone to these sort of attacks. I put it down too jealousy and spite, but they too deserve a place on the internet.

On the other hand I read this guy's comments on the RFF which I frequented during a small period of time some months ago, and I must say he has some valid points about that, not that I would put it in the same terms and use of language, quite funny to read if you frequent RFF.

This reminds me of the tabloids, news or political campaigns. They cut and paste information to paint the picture they want to see. I'm still on the fence about going through with my M8 order. I'm still waiting to see how things pan out.

There is a person out there taking some awesome photos and staying out of the mess.

And what exactly did you expect from this site with the address: photo dot poo dot com
(I had to write this out, otherwise the site software converted it to PHOTO POO HOME.)

Truth in advertising! I mean appropriate naming, eh, . . .?
