Hi fellow DL4 users,
I have been enjoying my 1 month old DL4 tremedously after choosing it over its favourite rival - the Canon G10. The color tone of the DL4's pictures is more natural and this is what I treasure most. However, I find that on certain images, especially protraits in "Standard Film" mode, the jpgs can be a little too soft for my liking. In "Dynamic B&W" mode however, it's perfectly fine. Do fellow DL4 users feel the same way and increase in the sharpness level for jpg output in "Standard Film" mode? Thanks and best regards. |

Hello and welcome to the forum. Are you in one of the "scene" modes - "Portrait"? If you are, most likely the portrait setting will be a bit softer. Also you might want to check the focus area you've chosen. I generally use the smallest area and place it over a person's eyes, lock the focus there and then recompose my shot when shooting people. Shooting in RAW mode is really worth checking out too. It's an incredible camera. I had a G9 and the DL4 works much better for the images I shoot. Good luck.
