Any U.S. M8 Arrivals Today, Monday Edition

So it's clear that a fair number of people got their cameras on Friday and Saturday, and good for those who did. Seems like there are a fair number of people who believe they will be getting their cameras tomorrow, Tuesday -- election day in the States. I was told by my dealer last Wednesday that I would have the camera on Thursday, but then on Thursday was told, "Monday, maybe Tuesday." And so I am waiting. Anyone today gotten the happy call, or the happy doorbell ring from their UPS deliveryman? Just guessing, it sounds like there was an initial delivery to Leica USA, they pushed those out the doors (Friday/Saturday deliveries), and then a second on Friday or perhaps today, that will get them into our hands tomorrow. Obviously, today would be better than tomorrow, for those of us waiting...

UPDATE - JUST GOT THE CALL. IT'S HERE!

I have not got a call and am looking all over the world for a M8 , i have nothing here to shoot. Growing inpatient. One R9 in shop the other sold and i sit here looking at a DMR and 15 lenses . HELP ME LEICA!!!!!

Probably won't help to beg but hell at least worth a try. LOL

My R9 just came back from repair . 1 week turn time. These guys are good. Looks like new

Don't know if this will help, but I turned down a silver M8. He may still have it. Call Ken Hansen in NYC at 212-879-3263.

Guy - the dealer is Ace Photo in Sterling, Virginia. A wonderful shop. I was number one on the list, and had ordered a black one. Arrived to find that a very nice gentleman was walking off with the black one, and he thought he was #1 on the list! That left the silver one for me... My jaw dropped. Long story short, he was a very nice man, and the dealer, it must be said, did step up to do the right thing. So I walked out with the black one, the other photographer will have his within two weeks, and I think I'm having him over to my house for Thanksgiving dinner! (Just kidding.) The silver one is still there, but alas, there are 10 on the list. Happy day. Battery is charging and I look forward to getting off work and using mine.

Guy E.A. Mancuso, my friend, this has to be killing you. (E.A. for Early Adopter.) David at Dale Labs just handed one over to David K this morning and is currently charging my battery so that I'll be good to go when mine arrives tomorrow. I think Woody's is about to go out as well. You could check to see if David has any extras.

Take heart though, as one will show up soon. In the meanwhile, stop writing about this banding stuff to try to scare others out of their place in line.
