johnnyboy Posted October 10, 2006 Share #1 Posted October 10, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have been thinking to up-grade my D-Lux 2 for the new D-Lux 3 hoping that there would be many improvements but reading some of the comments here I'm not so sure now. Will I get a lot more than 10 megapixels? I'd like to think so!

johnnyboy Posted October 10, 2006 Author Share #5 Posted October 10, 2006 Thanks for all the feedback guys, maybe I shall just invest in that nice Leica "classic brown leather case" for my DL2 instead,LOL
marknorton Posted October 10, 2006 Share #6 Posted October 10, 2006 The DL2 was well received and as we know, supplies of it ran out before demand did. If I was given to cynicism (never!), I'd say the DL3 is just what Panasonic are churning out this month. Actually, I quite like the camera but I don't think it makes sense to trade up to it. jfgilbert Posted October 10, 2006 Share #7 Posted October 10, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) DP Review just posted the review of the LX-2: http://www.dpreview.com/news/0610/06101001panasoniclx2review.asp It does notes some minor general improvements and comparisons LX-1/LX-2. It also shows a bit of what can be done to manage the noise when shooting RAW. For me, it is not enough to view that as an upgrade, but it may help you with your decision. davidada Posted October 10, 2006 Share #8 Posted October 10, 2006 Just received my black D-Lux 3 from Popflash, the battery is charging so I will not have any pics for a few hours. The first thing that I was totally unprepared for was the diminuitive size of this camera, it is a tiny jewel! This for me was a welcome bonus as this camera is a stuff in my pocket go anywhere anytime user. I will post some pics tomorrow
