Rotes Gesicht A bottle of wine and a slip up on ebay!

Hi There

Slightly off topic, but I thought it might amuse some of you.

I put my name down for an M8 some time ago - and I can't wait to get it. I did think it might be good to get a couple of secondhand lenses before it arrived, and was looking on ebay the night before last and I found this:
M6 ttl, mint condition, chrome, .58, boxed, from 2001.

I just put in a casual bid a couple of minutes before the end (I liked the wording you see). . . . . yes, as you can see, I won it - I had a lovely day in London today - meeting the seller, visiting Camera Press - and then going on to Classic Cameras (well, I thought I ought to buy one lens at least). . . . . . oops!
I ended up with:

Voigtlander 15mm (new)
Leica 50mm f2 summicron (not new)
Leica 90mm f2.8 (not new either but with passport)

I've just been out shooting with it - keep looking at the back to see if it's okay!

At least I have the lenses to go with the M8 when it arrives. The M6 is as perfect as described, and it is a joy to use - and soooooo quiet! I'll be interested to see how badly I've screwed up.
Anyway, I thought some of you might be interested in someone else's slip up.

Buyer's remorse . . . . . Nah (and the boss is being a darling as always).

kind regards
