Interesting how many people on this forum don't know the difference between "there" and "their".

I doubt their are any D-Lux 3s out their yet.

Also, if it was that great Albert would already have the Panasonic LX2, which has been out long enough to be on ebay for yonks. Where are all the user raves about this one then?

You mean "I doubt there are any D-Lux 3s out there yet" right?

all apologies for the grammatical error Mark, I just wanted to know about the camera, didn't know I'd get a repremand on my english usage as well. Maybe I should visit a Roget's thesaurus forum instead??

Not a reprimand, just a gentle reminder. The same would be due to people who think the singular of "lenses" is "lense" or that "it's" means "belonging to it" where actually it means "it is".

And of course it's "I doubt there are any D-Lux 3s out there yet".

Imagine what I am like to work for...

Unable to afford the DLux3 or wait so bought the LX2 last weekend.

Decided to buy DLUX 3 equivalent after reading Sean Reids review of the DLux2 (Thanks, Sean !)

First impressions:-

Beautifully made camera

Very discreet

Excellent 16:9 ration screen

After using an SLR for a few years I am amazed at compact pocketable design, ergonomics and ease of use.

Excellent image quality (but see below)

The photograph was taken last weekend at about 7.00 a.m GMT from a hill top called Gummers How about 5 miles south of Windermere, Cumbria,U.K. ( incidentally Lake Windermere is situated to the left in the photograph under the mist ! )

I hope to improve when I get used to the camera and start using RAW when new Mac arrives in 2007 ( present system is an extremely slow iMac G 3)

Many thanks to all contributors for their posts which I really enjoyed reading over the past 9 months while waiting for the launch of the LX2.

Regards

David

You still understood his inquiry, did you not? It is poor form to be criticizing a person's english on an international forum, where it is likely that english is the person's second language.

While you're at it, move your periods inside the quotation marks.

Mark, I'm just a dumb fireman, so I'm glad I don't work for you. It would be fun to have you around the station correcting people's grammar, I'm sure you'd be quite the popular one!

Everyone else, thanks for the replies, and that photo is very nice David, I have to admit that I'm also tempted to go with the Lx-2

Hi, Peter:
Please explain, why can one "Have a Life" only with poor English?

From an LX1 user, I am not sure why the 'wow' but admit I am on a laptop. I am not sure why you would not be using RAW mode, surely you can access it with your current machine? It really does make a difference. It isn't worth waiting to get into it.

Peter I thought everyone knew about EXIF info?

Hey Rob the Fireman, once you get the camera we can send in both the gramatic and liguistic genii and you can film the action in the station for us in LX2 / DLux3 movie mode.
