More D-Lux 3 flash questions

Hi all

I was just in the shop trying out the flash capability on the D-Lux 3 and came across 2 other problems/questions:
1. The slow sync fires with the pre red eye flash whether you want it for not. Is there anyway to turn off this pre-flash?
2. You can’t force the slow sync flash on, it’s under “auto” control and still subject to ambient light levels. How can you force the slow sync on (with pre-flash off)?

A possible work around is using shutter priority with a slow shutter speed with Flash On?

So no one knows if it is possible to turn off the preflash off with slow sync mode or if you can force slow sync to fire?
