A very dear friend of mine is interested in buying my Digilux 2 (excellent condition).
So as to be fair on him and on me, what would be a good price for him to buy it at? I have seen the e Bay offers which hover around 750 -850, but I'm looking toward an educated opinion from the forum if possible. That way I am sure that I would be selling the camera to him at the correct price. Many thanks -

I would demand a bit more if the sensor had been replaced (including documentation from Leica) . . . and I've seen such (repaired) D2's selling for around $1K in this regard.
Good luck. ~jk |

Actually - I haven't replaced the sensor. The images I get are still cracking sharp and as impressive as the day I bought the camera.

Don't sell it. You will be sorry. Iuse this camera all the time. Superb image taker add we are unlikely to see something like this again from Leica. This is such a great all around camera. I'd think twice, then three times again before I'd let go of this little darling. |

Alberto, thanks for the information.
Bob, any reason for disposing of the Digilux 3? Is the image quality inferior or is it just larger to carry around?

Sharookh,
Did you check the completed listings on Ebay? That probably the best source. Click "Advanced Search" and search "Completed listings only". There are lots of D2s there. The red entries did not sell, but the blue should give you a fairly obective sense of recent pricing. John |
