D2 with Infrared Filter??
Has anybody used the D2 for infrared images ? ? What filter, step up/down filter rings, etc. would you recommend . . . and any other useful information.

I assume you are talking about the Digilux 2. I made some tests with a deep red (B+W 092) filter and concluded that the D2, unlike the Digilux 1, just doesn't work for IR. I assume that the D2 has a built in sharp IR cut filter which makes for better color images, but renders it useless for IR photography. Even at f4 and 2 seconds exposure in bright sunlight (12 stops more than the color image), the resulting image doesn't convert well into IR. You can check for yourself by converting the image to grayscale and checking the foliage. Unlike the D1 image, the dark green remains dark.
