Okay, I have to admit that the Digilux 3 looks like a bling bling version of the L1. Or am I not wrong buddies?

dos anyone know if it has the same raw shooting problem of the panasonic..i.e. takes a few seconds to write the raw file once shutter has been released?

So, the V-Lux does in fact have a viewfinder, yes? I don't like using the screen to make shots.

V-Lux is beautiful, Leica finally moving into ZLR market. Hope the quality will be better than the competition!

Looks like the D3 is about 15% more than the L1.

I think that I will be grabbing a Panny FX-01 from Best Buy next Friday. It will be my first real pocketable camera (I have a Nikon 3100 that's kinda working...)

If you mean was I hoping for a straight upgrade from the Digilux 2 then yes. But I think we all knew what the Digilux3 was going to be.

Sorry, you are now banned from ever using the 35-70mm f2.8 R or 28-90 f2.8-4.5 R zoom lenses ever again.

Vlux does not exactly look like a design price winner. But it a lot for the money. I might pick one up if its available soon.

And by the way: Thanks for releasing this info to the forum a day before expected.

It's VERY cmpetetive prices I think. The vlux is incredible price and the D-lux is 10 MP for that price and in that size. Hope these are on the market very soon.

just wondering (to myself mostly) how many of each of these new models Leica ordered. it's been repeatedly reported that leica ordered a limited production run of the previous dlux2 and d2 models.

Can't say i'm overly interested in this unless they have remobed the problems the Pany has with the dark and small viewfindeer but I can't quite understand your emotions. The Digilux 2 useed a zoom lens and was, in my opinion, an excellent camera.
