Hello:
I have searched the site and come across many items on polarizers, but none relating specifically to the Digilux 3. I'd appreciate receiving comments, general and specific, on this topic. Generally, what's been your experience? How strongly do you recommend adding a polarizer to this camera? Does having a polarizer dispense with the need for a UV filter? I am considering the B+W 72mm circular polarizer - Is it a good partner for the Digilux 3? I understand that the Leica 72mm polarizer is VERY expensive? Is it worth the price difference form the B+W? Thank you, John |

John,
I use on my D3 a B+W 72E C-Pol. It is a great filter. Of course it can cost 1-2 stops, but in this case no problem because thanks mainly t the O.I.S. Normaly I have a UV-filter fixed (also for protection), but when I use this Pol filter then I remove the UV filter. As it cost a few years age aprox. EUR 100,00, I should not recommend to dispense of the UV filter. On this particular B+W filter the original front lens cap does not fit. This because the slim construction. Good luck with your choice.
