sanyasi Posted November 6, 2014 Share #4 Posted November 6, 2014 I did a Blurb book in B&W. I have read other posts on this forum pointing out deficiencies in the printing process, indicating you can see colors rather than true grey scale. I didn't have that problem. The result isn't inkjet, high end paper, cool calibrated quality, but the non-photographers who saw the books were delighted. I have decided not to do books. I'd rather that people have a portfolio of my prints in a nice box, but Blurb was perfectly acceptable, although it is not economical if you want to sell the books and make a profit unless you are famous and your signature has value. I don't recall the names, but there are some high-end self-published book makers out there. You can easily drop $300 or $400 making a book. dritz Posted November 7, 2014 Author Share #6 Posted November 7, 2014 Thanks for the suggestions. Through them I also discovered a couple places doing B&W silver prints from digital sources. I am sending out some files to Fromix and Digital Silver to see how they do. I am sending a LR 5.6 generated JPEGs at 100% quality, 300DPI in "low sharpening for glossy" and no-sharpening pairs. The files are from a the Monochrome. While not a book I could instead do a photo album.... imagine that! Regards. Dean
