well let's starting saying that for me a phone can never replace a real camera (and for my need when i talk about a "real" camera for me its full frame...my Rx1 or my M240...maybe a sigma DP quattro can join this small group :D

but this QX1 module with lens mount, a APS-C 20mp sensor...well to be truth

i m much more excited about this product then leica T as portable camera

its small, with a prime lens like sony 20mm 2.8 or sigma 19mm /30mm it can be kept in a small pouch as every day camera

what do you think ?

i didnt see any comment about this camera...anyway you will carry with you always your smartphone so this is just a small add on...

You dismissed the Leica T out of hand for being APS-C ...

Erick, someone like you should upgrade to the new and stunning looking Leica T. ;)
No thanks ! I want a modern mirror-less FF with the bests small lenses

As to the OP: it might be rather awkward to handle. I think it will join many other Rube Goldberg constructions by disappearing quietly from the market within the year, leaving a small enthusiastic group of users orphaned.

You really dont see the BIG difference ?

the QX is not a body it is an iphone extension

You can use an iphone as menu and display, the Leica T is 1000 years behind

it cost 300€

and so many advantages over the Leica T

If I buy a Leica camera I want a FF with all modern features, I use my iphone as camera very often and it is not a 24x36

but as I said before the M240 will certainly be my last Leica

If I sell my M and buy a Sony A7r or s the Sony QX will be the best complement

i found also this sistem of "mountable" adapater ugly and not practical, maybe it was much better some cover with integrated the mount , i have seen something like this just for a sony phone, but not sure its compatible with this bigger QX1, and for other phone like iphone ? i dont want to spend 5 minutes to prepare the camera ....

my concern is this system to mount all together ....

advantage is that this QX1 can be kept in your jacket pocket or a small messenger bag

regarding sensor....well this new 20MP sensor look newer generation then the old "sony" 16mp used by T...this drive me crazy...in a camera of this pricetag they could not afford to buy the 24mp sensor used by A600 or nikon D3200 :confused:

anyway i think Cartier Bresson could have liked this system...i have seen a his interview on NY times few years before he died and he said that for him the best camera is a small portable camera (of course i guess with some "quality" since i dont think he will use a iphone for his project if he lived in this years:cool:

Exactly the contrary will happen

The quality is good enough for photography, no needs to have a noctilux

today Cartier Bresson will certainly never use a Leica M

Be happy :)

Indeed I see a big difference. A novelty not a camera.. It is interesting to read the discussion on DPreview.

I am also very interested

do you think that a Metabones Leica M Mount Lens will work to use M lenses ?

I don´t believe M-lenses can be metaboned. You mean the lens booster?

See the home page of Metabones, no M-lenses for the E-mount.

A pity, but technical not solvable. Too less air (place).

... today Cartier Bresson will certainly never use a Leica M

He would be 106.

I agree with you, it is a pity he's gone. But during his last years, due to his age he used a Leica CM, which was not the most compact one, but most auto-everything for that era. Essentially: it had a viewfinder. How else could he have composed (= :) la géométrie :) ) ?

It's good you make the affirmation, what he would not use.

But there is doubt: he used a film M for landscape pühotography. And he never used a sub-miniature camera, that can be hidden in a cigarette pack. Those were the dated equivallents of the QX1.
