Hello!

I receive a update of Capture one Pro 7 today.

I have never had any problems to update the program.

But this time it will not work.

The reason it that I prefer Mac OS X 10.6.8

I can still use Nikon scanner 5000 with this Mac OS X but I´m not sure if that is possible if I

upgrade the system ?

I can get around the new C1 if I make a " new session without name "every time but that is very annoying.

Thank you for the information. That's rather bad news. I also stay at 10.6.8 because I need Rosetta. Witch version of C1 is affected? 7.2.2 worked here with 10.6.8.

What about the new session? Isn't it working at all or does only some parts do not work anymore.

No more fun to work with a Mac.f-(

Hello !

7.2.3 is affected, when I tried to start C1 again after about one hour the mail is was impossible.

I had to go to Phase One :

Mittelformat Kamerasysteme - Raw Konverter | Phase One

and install 7.2.2 . Well it is working ok now, I hold my fingers crossed that will continue working...

But Phase One said that is important to uninstall before install 7.2.2

Mittelformat Kamerasysteme - Raw Konverter | Phase One

The catch 22 here is that is impossible to reach "Capture One license ...." Before installing 7.2.2 because 7.2.3 don´t open at all.

Have you considered using an emulator such as Parallels or VirtualBox (free)? You could then upgrade to the latest version of OS X for Capture 1 and run a guest copy of Snow Leopard for the Nikon scanner when you need it.

Not ideal I agree, but a workable solution which will allow you to continue to use the most upto date versions of the raw developer.

fwiw, when I need to keep an older operating system for old software (e.g., scanning software, etc..) I made a bootable copy of the OS (using something like SuperDuper! works fine for cloning) onto a portable drive (don't need a big one, just enough to hold the OS.) Then when it came time to do scans, I just booted off the portable drive with the older OS. I did my scans and dropped them into my current drive (or my PS scratch drive or any storage drive) to process in the latest OS I'm using for everything else. This way I can keep older OSs for older software and keep my daily OS up to date, etc.. Works for me....

Thank you very much for the advices, I have some thinking to do here, and learning of course.

For the moment I´m happy as the programs is working.

I am kind of spoiled when it comes to more advanced things in the computer. My son is my guru and I received the attached picture from him yesterday.

Latitud N 76.53° . Longitud E 150.77° . speed 0 Knop. barometer 1015,0.

He will be back in the end of august.

Why so complicated? Use Bootcamp, keep your present version for your scanner and install Mavericks to be able to run the newest software.

I was not aware that you could install a different version of OS X using Bootcamp as it is intended only for Windows (although I understand it has been used for Linux).

You could use Bootcamp to partition the disk but that would be formatted as either Fat32 or NTFS. I'm not sure if Disk Utility would then allow the formatting of this to Mac OS Extended but if it does you could then install a different version of OS X and select the partition to boot to on start up. Again having done this I'm not sure if copying between partitions is supported.

Either way it all sounds a bit complicated!!

Thanks for that, but I thought you could do that with any external disk. You don't need to use Bootcamp, just format the drive as a GUID partition and install the version of OS X needed e.g. Snow Leopard. You can then chose this at startup when you wish.

Either way its possible to use older versions of OS X (hardware permitting) if required for some applications.

Many thanks for the info.
