Advertisement Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 Hi rosuna, Take a look here Apple patent for AF system. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
adan Posted June 27, 2014 Share #2 Posted June 27, 2014 Seems like more of a "motor system" since it adjusts either aperture and/or focus. I wonder how they will get it to do both at once (or would there be two separate sets of "muscles"?) I wonder if one can really patent something (muscle control of focus and iris) that nature has been doing for 300 million years or so?
pico Posted June 27, 2014 Share #3 Posted June 27, 2014 ... for mobile devices but... interesting... Apple files patent application for artificial muscle camera lens actuator: Connect . I have considered since I was a child how silly it was to NOT mimic physiology to make new things, in particular the small muscles of the cornea. Thanks for that. pico Posted June 30, 2014 Share #5 Posted June 30, 2014 Corneal muscles? Muscles! Not necessarily for our eyes, but applying technology for other applications that mimic the same. If we look back upon invention we find a remarkable correspondence between inventions and our physiology in mechanical and also symbolic terms. You know it can be patented, and we can be sure that improvements of the concept will follow. .

Maybe you will come up with The Theory of Everything on the side.
